Do you supplement?

Simply put, we do not nourish our body with the proper nutrients, even though most of the time, we're overeating. I like the phrase from famous author Michael Pollan, “we became overfed and undernourished."

You know the saying, we are what we eat. Well, let us add to this, we are also what we do not get from food. Deficiency in essential minerals, vitamins, digestive enzymes are common and translated in less than optimal physical/mental performance, but luckily can be addressed with professional grade supplementation and superfoods. This topic is huge, and controversial, and there are many functional and integrative medicine doctors, practitioners offering different lists, quantities and sources for supplementation.

Nutrition is of  great professional interest to me and a topic of my continuing studies and research.

Here is the list is most commonly suggested daily supplements:

  • Probiotics
  • Vitamin D3
  • EPA/DHA, commonly known as Omega-3/6/9 fatty acids
  • coQ10

If we go for an advice to the same Dave Asprey, biohacker who ran a non-profit Silicon Valley Health Institute anti-aging group, he will give you "a must" list of 10 basic supplements.
